Hey, I’m Em.

I’ve been working at Happyporch for what is coming up to eight months now. As my skill set is a bit different from the rest of the ‘porch, I thought I’d take the opportunity to write this little piece about my experience here.

Finally it was time to see each other in person for the first time since 2019. Before Covid hit, we used to have a meetup twice a year, and during the pandemic our team changed a lot, so roughly half the team have never seen each other in person. We were therefore very excited to finally spend some time together and fortunately, almost everyone was able to make it. We chose Seaton Carew in the UK and we were not disappointed! 

In 2018, at HappyPorch we thought a lot about where we are and where we would like to be in terms of Team diversity.

At HappyPorch we care about our Team members - their happiness, engagement and satisfaction at work.

In HappyPorch we have the greatest opportunity and privilege to meet physically twice a year, each time in another country and enjoy living and working together for a week or two! 

In October 2019 we started measuring our equality and diversity. This was prompted by our work towards fulfilling the requirements for B Corp certification. One of the benefits of the process is focussing on ourselves and our practices.

Back in October it was time again for our second team meetup this year. This time the HappyPorch team came together in Liverpool to spend a week together.

After a year of planning and living the actions we finally transformed from Endzone.io Ltd to HappyPorch. This better reflects our current identity and where we want to go in the future. We changed the company name,logo and launched this new website.

We get asked this question a surprising amount, or at least it’s surprising to me.  We love our quirky name and enjoy numerous word plays for a number of our internal projects. Yet, it is still a little surprising and gratifying when others are intrigued by the name itself.
